- Qualifications. Candidate of Biological Science.
- Current position. Senior Researcher, Department of Mycology, M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
- Expertise. Botany, mycology; expert on rust and smut fungi; video photography; over 40 publications including 4 monographs; participant of the Darwin Initiative project Biodiversity information in the former Soviet Union and related INTAS project; Ukrainian Treasurer for the 14th Congress of European Mycologists, participant in the Darwin Initiative project Fungi of Ukraine and author of entries for rusts and smut fungi in the major checklist resulting from that project; Treasurer for Ukraine's first National Conference on the Conservation of Biodiversity, Kaniv, 1997 and Co-editor of the resulting conference proceedings; participant in the Royal Society project Electronic Maps of Ukrainian Fungi & Plants; considerable experience of data-entry for computerized biological recording, and of data-base maintenance.

- Expeditions & fieldwork. Participant and Ukrainian Treasurer for the Royal Geographical Society's first Ralph Brown Expedition (1998); participant and team leader of numerous expeditions in Ukraine; experience in canoe expeditions on rivers and lakes in Ukraine, including the Middle Dnieper (1991-2000), the Pivdennyi Buh (1990), Kiev reservoir and the Upper Dnieper (1982-84); further field experience in Cuba, northern Russia and Britain.
