Qualifications. Graduate of the Biology Faculty, University of la Habana, 1998.

Current position. Researcher, since 1998.

Expertise. Amateur mycologist (1983-1998). Researcher in the Department of Mycology of the Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática (IES) since 1998. Participant of the following national projects: Fungal Diversity in the "Sierra del Rosario" Biosphere Reserve, Cuba and Automated Classification of Plant-pathogenic Microscopic Fungi based on Explorative Analysis of Data and Advanced Techniques for Image Processing. Member of the Asociación de Aficionados a la Botánica since 1986. Specialist in systematics and ecology of anamorphic / mitosporic fungi. Training in identification of mitosporic fungi on different substrata in the Instituto de Ecología y Sistemática (IES) under the supervision of Dr Mena Portales since 1998. Scientific member of the following projects: Fungi of the Caribbean (Darwin Initiative, 1997-2000); Diversidad Fúngica en la Reserva de la Biosfera "Sierra del Rosario", Cuba; Electronic Distribution Maps of Caribbean Fungi (British Council, 2001-2003); Biodiversity Conservation in Cuba (Darwin Initiative, 2001-2004).
